    Yes, Tonda, we had a great time... once we got there. Since we checked in at midnight on Friday night, it was too late to do anything, plus we were exhausted from all we had been through. It actually only rained brief showers or thunderstorms three times on Saturday, although it was very windy and cloudy all day. We did some shopping and participated in the daily hotel activities. The hotel always kept up-to-date posted bulletins tracking the hurricane. By Sunday morning the clouds were gone; you would have never known that a hurricane had been so close. The Iberostar resort was great ....good food, friendly staff, daily activities and entertainment.... not to mention that it is just
    beautiful; thank you for recommending it.

    As far as American Airlines, I don''t have too many nice things to say. It was just one screw-up after another once we got to Miami. They apologized, but offered no real compensation (they did not charge us $2 for headphones). They ran out of drinks and had no food.... people were hungry and thirsty after being on the plane over three hours prior to
    take off and everyone missed dinner. I will write to customer service; they should be aware of the series of events. All problems were American Airlines related...not anything to do with weather. The original pilot we had (they also had to change crews after all the mechanical problems were fixed) said he could not fly into winds in excess of 50MPH... they were only about 30mph when we took off. I hope you enjoy your trip next week in Tortola. I just looked it up.... I''m not sure of the exact location of the British Virgin Islands, but appears to be part of the Caribbean. I hope you have a wonderful time. Let me know how it goes. I always want to try something different. Start watching now for forming tropical storms, and I hope you are not flying American :-)

    Sorry for the delayed reply, but this is my work email, and I have not been here since August 15. Also, because of all the delays with American Airlines on Aug 17 and the many unexpected calls I had to make sitting in the plane (boarded on the runway) for almost 4 hours, my phone ran out of battery, and I could not charge it until I got back
    to the states. Thank you for all of your help. Most everything was great after the series of problems with American Airlines. We finally got to our hotel at midnight on the 17th.

  • Trip was GREAT!! - June 19th

    I just wanted to let you know that the trip was GREAT!! We are wanting to go back later in the year or first of next year. The resort was so beautiful, I couldn''t have ask for anything better.

    We were wondering, if we invite more people will the prices be less expensive? So far we have 6 people including us that is interested in going. Find out for me and let me know. I want to start making plans as soon as possible. Once again, thanks for all your help.

    Our trip was great and everyone had a blast! It was so good, the grand kids actually asked to go to Kid''''s Club..Wow!!!!! Hayden had his 10th birthday on vacation (again!!) and had a great day. Occidental Grand is our
    favorite hotel in Cozumel now that we have been. It is great for couples and is especially great for families. Just wanted to give you an update now that we are back home. As usual, thanks for helping us get booked and for
    saving us a few $$ along the way!!!!!!!!!! (The kids and grand kids were the beneficiaries---surprise!)

    I wanted to thank you for the great vacation. We had a super honeymoon and a really fun time there in Cancun. Funjet has a great partner, Lomas Travel works perfectly, all transfers, tours, representative at the hotel- they
    organized everything very well, and they have a very good reputation in Cancun too. Gran Melia is a wonderful luxurious hotel - very beautiful, with a great pool/beach area, pretty grounds, good restaurants, very good
    service, great night shows - not too often, not too rare, and quite at the same time, and it is just beautiful, especially inside. Tours were great too - we swam with dolphins, went to Isla Mujeres, to Tulum, Xel-Ha, Chichen
    Itza on the equinox day, dived in Cozumel. The weather was great, the sea is just ahhhhhhhhh - I''ve never seen such an amazing color of water ever before!

    As for the wedding stuff, as you might remember we decided to have a wedding here in Texas and just get some wedding shots in Cancun. I highly recommend Grupo Maurus S.A. de C.V. for professional wedding (and not only wedding)
    photography, www.cancun-wedding-phtography.com . Michael Maurus is a professional photographer with years of experience in Germany, England and Mexico, and his wife Petra, a wonderful person to deal with, also performs
    non-denominational ceremonies. For renting a tux I would recommend D''Paul Cancun by Tere Torrejon, http://www.dpaul.com.mx/. As I was told, there are only two tux-rental places in Cancun, but D''Paul is the only one where they speak English

    So thank you once again for a great vacation, we had a really great time there and everything was just wonderful!

    Our trip was July 19th-22nd to Negril,Jamaica. this was out first time and we had a wonderful time. Everyday there was something to do different. And, every night there was a different sunset that was breath taking. The natives are very friendly but beware of the ones trying to hustle you out of money on the beach. But, hotel security where always there to take care of those who bother you. We will be going back soon. Thanks to Joy for all her hard work in making this the best vacation. LOVE YOU ALL AT JOYRIDE TRAVEL.

    Glenda, helped me plan my honeymoon cruise. This was not my first cruise, but it was the first one we would be paying for ourselves. So I had lots of questions, wanted lots of numbers, and Glenda helped me every step of the way. She is very professional, follows up in a timely manner and handled the whole transaction by phone and email making my life easier. She was referred to me by a friend and now I know why.

    Our trip was great and everyone had a blast! It was so good, the grand kids actually asked to go to Kid's Club..Wow!!!!! Hayden had his 10th birthday on vacation (again!!) and had a great day.
